It’s been almost 6 months, since I moved to Jakarta. We have done many a things, but there was much that was pending to do. The husband and me love plays, stand up comedy and any other kind of live performances. We did attend many, before the wedding when we met seldom in Bangalore. (We were in a long distance relationship you see, for 7 years;) ) So Saturday night i.e 14th Oct’17 gave us an opportunity to attend a Stand Up Comedy Show at the American Club Jakarta organized by Mad About Comedy, Jakarta.
A little about Mad About Comedy Jakarta
Mad About Comedy is all over the world across many countries, bridging the gap between comedians and audiences. Mad About Comedy Jakarta has been around 15 years. Yet we heard about them only now. Sadly, but then better late than never right. 😉
The show was scheduled for 14th Oct’17 at the American Club, Jakarta, with an amazing line of artists. We had to, had to go there.
Whata fabulous show!
It started off with Indonesian comedians, – Bahtiar M, Coki P, Silvi Santoso and Mo Sidik. They were totally amazing! Each one of them. Bahtiar, Coki and Silvi were A–awesome. Though the language was a barrier to Bahtiar and Coki, they hit the right chord with the audience. I am sure it is just a start and these guys for sure have a long way to go. Keep at it guys!
I hardly have seen women stand up comedians and it was exciting to see Silvi on stage. Her demeanor was low key, but this girl had some good comedy timing. The highlight though, had to be Mo. This guy had everyone in splits. His timing and also the way he brings in the crowd to interact was really funny. He has a show coming up in December’17, definitely going for it. 🙂

Then came JoJo Smith! At 56, this badass is a must watch. Quite literally, I had an aching mouth from all the laughing. She was fascinating. Her tattoos, her style and her total down to earth personality, kept me in awe. She was extremely sweet too for taking out time and chatting up with us. JoJo sure has her MoJo!. 🙂
The last act was Nick Nicholas- A magician comedian. Like his social media accounts say, he sure is a complete entertainer. He had the crowd ooing and aahing on the magic treats, mixing it up with laughs. 🙂
The stars of the night for me were JoJo Smith and Mo Sidik. Love love love them!
Definitely Going back
The Mad About Comedy, Jakarta team were fabulous in getting the show together. It was a really fun night for us and laughing is the best thing you can ever do. Going back to as many shows as possible. Glad to have gone there.
