“Am the happiest here. The beautiful mountains & the lake. The rays of the sun keeping you warm and the cold breeze tickling your skin”, said Sid.

Avanika smiled saying, “It’s also a place you can be you, nobody to judge you and no pretending too!” and placed her hand on Sid’s leg as a reassurance that she understood.

Sid was amused and wondered what Avanika meant. He looked puzzled.

Avanika held his hand and said, “ I know about your affair, Sid”

Shocked. Then embarrassed, Sid stared unable to say a word.

“It’s okay that you are gay, my little brother. Don’t be embarrassed by it. Love is beautiful.” said Avanika with such tenderness that Sid’s eyes glistened.

“He’s a wonderful man. You’ll like him! Now shh and enjoy the scenery” said Sid as he held his sister close.

An Afterthought by OpinionatedMua

I have and still continue to wonder, why LGBT community has to fight soo hard to be who they are. Everyone is free to love who they want too. Homosexuality is not a condition or a disease that needs to be cured, it is plain simple love that you feel for a person who is of the same gender as you. It’s about time, everyone just concentrate on being more humane than anything else.

  1. Why not just live and let live when it is love or rather a relation between two people? As long as no one is hurt it shouldn’t matter isn’t it? Yet it is ego and insecurities that plant itself in abundance in our mind isn’t it? A great take.
