This book has been on my To-Read List for a really long time, almost more than 2 years I guess. I had the opportunity to interact with the author Anuja Chandramouli, while working at JustBooks and I sure was smitten. Her personality and attitude was intriguing. So I read her books more so because, she had written it, although the genre she wrote for was also a favorite. 😉 I have read Shakti-The Divine Feminine and it was time I read her first book Arjuna : Saga of a Pandava Warrior-Prince.:) Here is my book review of the same.
Yay or Nay
Yay. For, it’s a story you ought to know. Not just the story of the most loved Pandava-Arjuna, but of the many small stories and characters attached to his main story.
Done. The joy of finishing a book and liking it, is like finding a piece of yummy chocolate at the end of a vanilla ice cream cone. Unexpected and delightful 🤗😘😍 Arjuna by Anuja Chandramouli was a book i wanted to read since 1 yr or so and finally did. I really enjoyed it. Sometimes all you need is just the story. 🌠🌠🌠 3 shooting stars for the book. #OmuaBookReviews #arjuna #mythology #mythologicalfiction #anujachandramouli #bookstagram #books #bookreview #insta #instabook #instabookreview #bibliophile #book #bookishfeatures
Review of Arjuna : Saga of a Pandava Warrior
To be fair, having read many mythological fiction I expected a certain flow to the story, rather a perspective. But I was wrong to be judgmental about it just because I had a certain perception of mythological fiction books should be. Once I realized it, I let the book take me with it. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Arjuna : Saga of a Pandava Warrior, is a book that will give you many stories to ponder on. The book also puts Arjuna out in the open, bare with his negative traits too, humanizing him. This is what was endearing, Arjuna was and is a hero, but he is as human as anyone of us. Mahabharatha being one of the epic stories, I think we expect the protagonists to behave highly and rightly all the time. But then again, each of their characters is what makes them who they are. The main reason the story builds on and keeps moving.
Arjuna, sure is not one of the characters I like, but the book intrigued me. The various stories that come together, only to lead to the final outcome. The writing is simple and keeps you going, as you move through various stages of Arjuna’s journey. Arjuna : Saga of a Pandava Warrior-Prince is the narration of stories, not as opinions or giving specific perspectives, but just a book that takes you on the journey of Arjuna.
You should read this book, to know Arjuna. The various turmoils and the success he garnered with hardwork. Arjuna’s resolve to achieve skills and weapons for the war, his strong bond and love with his brothers, is what you will feel throughout the book. No wonder he is the epitome of a great warrior and a wonderful brother.
The book constantly, more as an undertone points at- Life comes a full circle. What you do now, will only influence ‘the what will be’ in your future. Every action has a cause and an effect, which you will see at each stage of your life. How true is this! We decide our future every single day of today. We constantly worry about the future, making decisions based on it. But we often fail to think of today.
Does destiny really mean something? Or it’s just us, doing good or bad today, which will only manifest to be the good or bad of tomorrow. Shouldn’t we be concentrating to do the right thing now, believing there will be more good in the future.
Arjuna : Saga of a Pandava Warrior Prince brings you an understanding of just this.
