#BookQuotes : Weave of words by Ayn Rand – A Master of Metaphors

As I continue my #theclassicsproject – an attempt to read all the classics, am currently reading ‘Atlas Shrugged’. A novel by Ayn Rand, who also authored the book on my ‘favorites list’ – The Fountain Head. The author is a master of metaphors. Her ability to explain feelings, people, characteristics or for that matter, even color leaves me awestruck. Am unsure when I will finish this book, considering I keep going back and reading through the lines. The beauty of it is, ‘KABOOM’, mind blowing. Here are the book quotes that are haunting me currently.

Quote 1:

Here she is describing a color. The color of a building. I must have read this 10 times, first 2 times to actually believe she came up with it. The next 8 to marvel at the metaphor. ‘The color of a fading masterpiece’, still rings in my head.

Quote 2:

Ever had that moment, when someone asked you a question, you knew the answer of but it never came to you then. You knew very well you know it, you even know when you got to know off it and that weird frustrating feeling in your tummy and throat, as you can’t say it out. Ayn Rand gives you some help with words to explain exact that feeling. My, how did she nail that you would wonder.

Quote 3:

That song in your music player, that means everything to you. It’s not your favorite song but a current addiction that runs on a loop for no good reason. You derive soo much meaning from it and it gives you some sort of energy to deal with something. Making way to Ayn Rand again to out your feeling into words.

This treasure in just a couple of pages. Am sure I’ll have a lot more to share as I make progress in reading. But truly, words are mightier than all but when a master weaver comes along. It’s like Avengers uniting, a wonder woman fighting, a Patronus charm being cast. An explosion of light, a burst of energy and the stop of that moment when all it matters is the marvel itself.

Ayn Rand , THE MASTER OF METAPHOR who will never seize to give you book quotes to marvel at.
